pet liability insurance companies for a *potentially dangerous dog*

Posted in Staff 9 months ago, 2 replies

I have a german shepherd labeled in CA as a *potentially dangerous animal* b/c of a dog bite in 12/2006. Our insurance recently sent us a non-renewal notice. Are there any insurance companies that insure dogs of this nature? We have already checked with Lloyds of London and they declined. The 36-month period will expire in 12/2009 but I would like to ensure we are covered until that time. Any suggestions?

In addition, there was a $96k payout for the dog bite in August 2008.
